Four changes in the market that every buyer and seller should know.

Is now the right time for you to buy or sell a home? Today I’ll respond to this question by covering the recent important changes that happened in the real estate market and how they affect you as a buyer or seller:

1. The real estate market has calmed down. Homes are still selling very quickly, but the market is not heading for a crash. A house that would have received 15 or 20 offers a little bit ago might now receive only three or five. If you’re a homebuyer, you have better chances of buying your dream home now that the market is no longer as competitive as before.

“You now have more homes to choose from.”

2. Interest rates have settled down. The crazy rise of rates has slowed, which is good news for buyers. However, it may not last forever. The Federal Reserve is still very active in taming inflation, and that may have an impact on interest rates.

3. More houses in the market. If you plan on buying a home, you now have more houses to choose from.

For sellers, the likelihood that your home’s value will increase dramatically six to eight months from now is marginal. I’m certain the value won’t go down, but there won’t be a crazy rise on the horizon. If you have more questions about selling or buying a home in this market, don’t hesitate to call or email me. I’m happy to help!
